Each holiday season, the Occoneechee Council comes together to support local youth through our Giving Tree program. This tradition ensures that every Scout feels included and equipped for success, regardless of their circumstances.
The need is real—many families in our community face financial barriers to getting Scout uniforms and essential gear. Thanks to the generosity of Scout leaders, volunteers, and donors, the Giving Tree has made a direct impact, helping dozens of young people participate fully in Scouting. Last year, our response made the difference for many families, but we know the need is greater than ever.
How Does the Giving Tree Work?
Unit leaders can submit the names and details of Scouts needing assistance now through December 5. With care and confidentiality, we match these requests with donors who are eager to provide uniforms, books, gear, and other basics. The process is simple and ensures help reaches those who need it most before the new year begins.
Your Support Makes All the Difference
The Giving Tree is powered by your compassion. Whether you’re a troop leader referring a Scout, a donor picking a wishlist from the tree, or a community partner helping us reach more youth, you’re part of something bigger—helping every child experience Scouting with pride and confidence.
Get Involved Today
Entries for assistance are open through December 5. Together, we can deliver hope, encouragement, and the promise of Scouting to more families this season.
Let’s make this holiday season one to remember for every Scout. Thank you for standing with Occoneechee Council and helping grow tomorrow’s leaders.
