National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT)
National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) is a dynamic, action-packed six-day leadership development program (over two weekends) designed to equip Scouts with essential skills they can apply within their troops and other leadership roles beyond Scouting. The course features hands-on activities, presentations, team challenges, discussions, and games in a fun, engaging environment, progressively building leadership concepts through practical exercises as participants embark on a Quest for the Meaning of Leadership.
Interested in Attending?
To attend NYLT, youth must be registered members of a Scouting unit and have a current Annual Health and Medical Record (Parts A, B, and C). Scouts BSA participants should be between 13 and 17 years old, have completed the Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops course, and hold the rank of First Class or higher. Venturers and Sea Scouts must be between 14 (or 13 having completed eighth grade) and 20 years old, have completed Introduction to Leadership Skills for Crews or Ships, and possess some basic camping experience. Additionally, all participants must have a recommendation from their unit leader, ensuring they are prepared and supported for this advanced leadership experience.
