Camp Campbell
Located just north of the North Carolina border, Camp Campbell offers a classic, back-to-basics Scouting experience on the scenic shores of Kerr Lake. Spanning 500 acres leased from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the camp provides 26 primitive campsites, many along the beautiful shoreline.

Amenities + Updates
Camp Campbell is NCAP-certified. Come and enjoy:
- Beach for waterfront activities
- The Block House, which serves as the headquarters for Camporees, training events, and other council programs. The Block House is equipped with a full kitchen, hot showers, flush toilets, First Aid supplies, and an AED.
- Large activity field with a pavilion
- Fire pit
- Flagpoles
Recent upgrades include six vault toilets, 15 new picnic tables, and 10 water hydrants for fresh water access.
Camp Campbell is NCAP certified, ensuring high safety and quality standards for all Scouting experiences.
Accessing The Camp
The entrance gate is secured with a combination lock. Units will receive check-in and check-out procedures in an email after making reservations.
Location: 498 Mill Creek Road, Clarksville, VA 23927—just north of the North Carolina border, easily accessible from Henderson, NC.
Directions to Camp Campbell
Please note, these directions are from Henderson, NC.
From Durham take Hwy 39 North at I-85 Henderson Exit 214.
From Raleigh take Highway 1 to Henderson. Take the Highway 39 exit to Kerr Lake Recreation Areas.
Continue North on Hwy 39 for fourteen (14) miles.
Fork right onto Rock Spring Church Road/NC 1356 (the church is in the fork)
Continue about three (3) miles. You will cross the NC/VA state line where the road name changes to Epps Fork Road.
Take a sharp left on to Mill Creek Road/State Road 826.
Camp Campbell is on the right.
