Camp Durant

For generations, Camp Durant has been a place where Scouts unplug, explore the outdoors on 2,400 acres of forests and lakes near Carthage, North Carolina, and make memories that last a lifetime. With beautiful campsites, exciting programs, and endless opportunities for adventure, it’s a place Scouts are proud to call home.

Summer Camp

There’s nothing quite like summer camp at Camp Durant. Spend a week swimming, climbing, learning new skills, and making friends while enjoying comfortable platform tents, an air-conditioned dining hall, as well as the adventure, fun, and traditions that keep Scouts coming back year after year.

Camp Campbell

Located on the shores of Kerr Lake just north of the North Carolina–Virginia border, Camp Campbell offers a rustic, back-to-nature camping experience with waterfront access, primitive campsites, and plenty of room for outdoor adventure.

Camp Reeves

Located near Carthage, North Carolina, Camp Reeves is the more primitive side of the Occoneechee Scout Reservation, featuring open camping areas, wooded campsites, and a peaceful setting perfect for unit camping and outdoor skills development.

The Occoneechee Council Alumni Association brings together former Scouts, Scouters, volunteers, and supporters who want to stay connected to the Scouting movement. Through special events, recognition programs, and networking opportunities, alumni can reconnect with old friends and help strengthen Scouting for future generations.

TESA

The Triangle Eagle Scout Association connects Eagle Scouts across central North Carolina through networking, fellowship, service, and leadership opportunities. Whether you’re a recent Eagle Scout or earned the rank decades ago, TESA provides a way to stay connected and continue making an impact.

NESA

The National Eagle Scout Association connects Eagle Scouts across the country through networking, professional development, scholarships, and opportunities to continue living the values of Scouting long after earning the Eagle Scout rank.

What Is Exploring?

Exploring is a unique career exploration program for young men and women ages 10 to 20. It’s designed to give you a real taste of what different careers are like—whether you’re interested in law enforcement, healthcare, engineering, technology, culinary arts, or dozens of other fields. You’ll get to:

Build leadership, teamwork, and life skills in a supportive, informal environment
Participate in hands-on activities and real-world projects
Meet and network with professionals working in your areas of interest
Make friends with other youth who share your passions

Join a Club or Post

Clubs (Ages 10–14): Perfect for middle school students, clubs offer a fun introduction to career fields with interactive activities and group projects.
Posts (Ages 14–20): High school and older youth can join posts, where you dive deeper into specific careers, shadow professionals, and even try out real job tasks.

Our Exploring program partners with local businesses, police and fire departments, hospitals, tech companies, and more. Recent and upcoming opportunities include:
