2008 OPERATIONS MANUAL
To All Occoneechee Scouts and Scouters:
I’m eager to share the 2008 Council Operations Guide with all of you. The focus of this document isn’t aimed at our current accomplishments or our past history. The following pages concentrate on the objectives and goals of each of our council’s executive departments for the upcoming year. With all of your help we can prepare a foundation of success for Occoneechee Council during 2008 and beyond.
The simplified format of the Operations Guide is to enable everyone to quickly understand the fundamental goals for 2008. The five primary categories included in the council-wide goals:
- membership and leadership recruitment
- financial stewardship
- program and camping operations
- communication efforts
- advancement of Scouting’s legacy are also reflected in the specific goals of each department.
Please review the proposals and objectives introduced by each of our executive departments. More importantly, please identify the areas that interest you the most and proactively contact the corresponding council officer to volunteer your ideas, comments and suggestions. We can only succeed with the involvement, the commitment and the action of everyone in Occoneechee Council.
Scouting operates with a unique volunteer – professional partnership. With this 2008 Operations Guide as a starting point, let’s seek additional information from our web site www.ocscouts.org, from our printed communications and from each other in order to deliver the fun of Scouting to the registered youth of our council. Let’s dedicate ourselves to bringing the joy of Scouting to the thousands of youth who haven’t yet had the opportunity to experience the value and the values of our life changing program.
Please contact me with any comments.
Warmest regards,

Chairman of the Board
